Career Services
Help develop career mentoring and networking projects and events; advise on the development of career services for student and alumni; support Career Week and other programs
Athletics
Continue to build outreach and programming for athletic alumni and build a new programming base of events staged around athletics games (e.g., pregame or halftime events) that will engage alumni at large and their families
Admissions
Help involve more alumni in events for prospective and admitted students; attend one or more of these events during the academic year
Fundraising
Chair an annual appeal to board members; work with UMBC staff on fundraising and stewardship initiatives
Nominations/Membership
Help identify and meet with potential new Board members; help plan an orientation for new Board members; strategize on how to former Board members can remain involved in the work of the Alumni Association
Alumni Scholarships
Serve on selection committee to review applications and choose recipients; strategize on ways to better connect award recipients with alumni board members (career resource, mentoring, etc.)
Alumni Awards
Serve on selection committee to review applications and choose recipients; “host” the award recipient during his/her visit to campus; chair the planning process for a revamped alumni awards event
Chapters, Societies, and Affiliated Groups
Review applications submitted by constituency groups interested in a formal affiliation with the Alumni Association; request and review annual reports from existing groups; provide updates to the Alumni Board

Review Alumni Association by-laws and propose amendments/updates as needed or requested
